In collaboration with the African Federation of Choral Music, the Africa Sings International Festival for Choral & Gospel Music will be held in Lomé, Togo from 19 to 23 October 2022.
AFRICA SINGS, a platform for expression of choral music in Africa, was originally created in Lomé-Togo in 2012. The event is based and has its headquarters in Lomé and is acknowledged by Togolese Authorities.
This festival takes place every year in a member country of the AFCM. During the event, choirs and groups from all over the world exchange ideas and think about the development of Africa.
After the first, second, third and fourth edition in Togo, Ghana, Burundi and UK, FRANCE, the sixth edition is earmarked to be held in Lomé TOGO propagating fraternity, choral music and friendship.
The creation of this festival is a solution to the lack of training, workshops, self/cultural identification and knowledge exchange. The worth of the African choral art, the affirmation of our identities and its sustenance is to be promoted and encouraged throughout this festival.
Africa Sings 2022 will encompass concerts, workshops, professional meetings and a cultural trade fair.
