NYCGB inspires and empowers young people through the life-changing experience of singing together. Our five choirs - the National Youth Girls’ Choir, National Youth Boys’ Choir, National Youth Training Choir, the flagship National Youth Choir and National Youth Chamber Choir - have a membership of over 750 of the best young singers aged 9 to 25 from across the UK. Through our residential courses and special projects, we provide our young people with unbeatable opportunities to develop skills in music and performance, leadership and teamwork, and to grow in confidence and aspiration.
The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain (NYCGB) is seeking up to three Trustees to support this outstanding national youth music organisation in continuing to thrive and grow.
Trustees must have a commitment to, and passion for excellence in music and for music in the education and well-being of all young people regardless of background or circumstance.
Applications are particularly welcome from Trustees with skills and experience in the following areas:
- Education and participation
- Governance and regulatory matters
- Fundraising and development
- Financial or legal acumen
We are keen to ensure the diversity of our Board and we welcome applications from all sections of the community, and from across the UK.
Trustees should have the time and commitment to attend four Board meetings a year, normally held in London, and to support the organisation less formally throughout the year as appropriate. Trustees will be expected to be ambassadors for NYCGB and choral music, supporting the organisation’s ongoing development of its profile and networks of young people, audiences and supporters.
