Hong Kong-based charity World Youth and Children Choral Artists’ Association (WYCCAA) will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2022/23 by organising four international events, both in-person and online.
Under the artistic direction of WYCCAA founder, Professor Leon Tong, the planned events include the World Choir Festival, World Choral Grand Prix and the World Choral Conducting Competition.
While the details of the latter events will be announced in 2022, the online edition of the World Choir Festival will be held on 2-3 April 2022. Activities include a 16-category online competition for all types of choirs, as well as concerts and masterclasses presented by world-leading choirs and experts.
12 international jury members will adjudicate in the Category Competition and have 1-to-1 “Meet the Jury” sessions with each choir. In the Final Competition, 72 experts from 40 countries/regions will decide the winners of the highest prizes, Choir of the World and Jury’s Prize, with total cash awards of over US$9,000.
Details of the concerts and masterclasses will be announced soon.
