Now in its fifth year, the programme supports choirs that demonstrate strong musical standards and a clear ambition to develop their work. Funding is available for specific projects designed to enrich or expand a choir’s activities. Applications will open on 16 March 2026 and close on 4 May 2026. New for 2026, award recipients will receive additional development support from the Royal School of Church Music alongside financial backing from the Cathedral Music Trust. This tailored support may include resources such as the RSCM’s Voice for Life training scheme, Young Voices materials, Hymnpact! resources, or discounted places on RSCM courses. Successful choirs will also receive one year’s free group membership of the RSCM. An introductory webinar outlining the programme and application process will take place on 19 March at 12:00pm. The Church Choir Award programme is designed to help choirs develop new ideas and strengthen their musical and community work within church settings.
