Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data CHORALLY collects, why we collect it, how we use it and what rights you have. CHORALLY is part of Music8 Group.

Who we are

CHORALLY is an editorial and discovery platform for the choral sector, operated by Music8 Group Ltd, 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. For any privacy question, contact chorally@music8.group.

What we collect

  • Information you send us. Name, email address, organisation and message content when you use a contact or submission form.
  • Content submitted for publication. Details of events, jobs, opportunities, people and organisations that you ask us to publish, including images and links you provide.
  • Technical and usage data. Standard server logs and aggregated analytics such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type.

We do not currently operate user accounts, so we do not hold passwords or account profiles. When accounts launch, this policy will be updated before they go live.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry or process a submission.
  • To edit, verify and publish listings, profiles and editorial content.
  • To maintain the security, integrity and performance of the platform.
  • To understand in aggregate how the platform is used and improve it.

Legal bases

Where UK/EU data protection law applies, we rely on legitimate interests (operating and improving an editorial platform, responding to enquiries and preventing abuse), the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request, consent where we ask for it (such as non-essential cookies), and legal obligation where applicable.

Published profiles and editorial content

CHORALLY publishes professional information about people and organisations in the choral sector – such as roles, biographies, works, events and public contact details – in a journalistic and directory context. We do not publish private contact details supplied to us in confidence. If you believe information about you is inaccurate or should not be published, email us and we will review it promptly.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell personal data. We use trusted third-party service providers to help operate CHORALLY, including providers of hosting, database infrastructure, analytics, email/contact-form processing and embedded media. We only share personal data with these providers where necessary for them to provide their services to us, and they act under appropriate contractual and data-protection obligations. We may also share data where required by law. Where data is transferred outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

An up-to-date list of our processors can be made available on request, and will be published here separately once verified.

Retention

Contact and submission messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and maintain an editorial record, and then deleted. Published content is retained while it remains relevant to the sector record. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email chorally@music8.group. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority – in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which is our supervisory authority.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

CHORALLY is aimed at professionals and adult participants in the choral sector and is not directed at children. Where content concerns youth choirs or young musicians, we publish only information provided by the responsible organisation.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform develops – particularly when user accounts launch. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
