Royal Conservatory of Music and Royal Irish Academy of Music sign partnership agreement
The Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada and the Royal Irish Academy of Music have signed a new partnership agreement to strengthen collaboration in music education, artistic exchange and cultural engagement.
Signed in Toronto during a visit by an Irish government delegation, the Memorandum of Understanding runs from 2026 to 2028 and covers areas including early childhood music development, curriculum exchange and joint support for young artists in both countries. As part of the agreement, RIAM will adopt RCM Smart Start, The Royal Conservatory’s early childhood music programme.
Alexander Brose, President & CEO of The Royal Conservatory of Music, said the agreement reflected ‘a shared commitment to excellence in music education and the power of the arts to connect communities across borders’.
Deborah Kelleher, Director of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, said the partnership would make ‘a meaningful contribution to strengthening Irish-Canadian cultural relations’.
