RSCM applications for two key Choir Project roles close on 28 April
The Royal School of Church Music is inviting applications for vacancies within The Choir Project, its partnership initiative with the Church of England.
The RSCM is recruiting for two new roles: Network Engagement Officer and Project Leader.
The Choir Project is a major initiative launched by the RSCM in partnership with the Church of England to help parish churches across England establish or renew choirs for children and young people.
Over three years, the programme aims to support up to 200 churches in diverse settings, engage around 2,400 young people, train 300 new choir leaders and mobilise 500 volunteers. Delivered by the RSCM as the Church of England’s official music agency, the project is designed to place music at the heart of mission and discipleship while giving young people meaningful opportunities for participation, leadership and community.
The initiative responds to growing interest in sacred choral music, while also addressing the challenge faced by many parish churches in engaging younger generations. According to the RSCM, half of Church of England choirs currently include no children.
The two new appointments are likely to be of interest to choral professionals with experience in project delivery, partnership-building, community engagement and the development of singing programmes.
