Sydney Philharmonia Choirs announces 2026 conducting fellows and emerging composers
Four early-career artists have been selected for Sydney Philharmonia Choirs’ 2026 Conducting Fellowships and Emerging Composer Awards.
Naomi Hnat and Benjamin Crowe have been named as the 2026 Sydney Philharmonia Choirs (SPC) Conducting Fellows, joining the organisation to work across its season concerts while receiving mentorship from Brett Weymark, Elizabeth Scott and Tim Cunniffe.
Sydney Philharmonia Choirs has also announced Courtney Cousins, who is currently based in London, and Melbourne-based Callum O’Reilly as its 2026 Emerging Composer Award recipients. Both composers will receive a paid commission to write and workshop new pieces for performance in World O World on 21 November at White Bay Power Station.
SPC Executive Director Matthew Beale said the programme builds on last year’s success by investing in emerging artists and giving them ‘the experience, mentorship and platform they need to flourish’.
