Founded ten years ago, the festival has built a strong reputation for combining high-quality workshops with major performance opportunities for choirs and singers. The new name reflects its growing reach beyond the UK, following recent and forthcoming events at leading European concert venues.

Announcing the change, founder and Artistic Director Russell Scott said the new identity better reflects the festival’s international outlook and its ambition to bring choirs together on a global stage while maintaining its core educational and artistic values.

As part of the announcement, the festival also confirmed the appointment of Craig Lees as Brand Ambassador. A long-standing workshop leader with the festival, Lees will represent the organisation as it continues to develop its programme in the UK and internationally.

Recent milestones include the festival’s first international event at the Berlin Philharmonie, with the next overseas edition scheduled for the Vienna Konzerthaus in June 2027. In the UK, the festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a flagship weekend in St Albans in October 2026, culminating in a public concert at St Albans Cathedral.

Under its new name, the World Voices Festival will continue to focus on providing choirs and singers with opportunities to learn, develop and perform alongside leading choral practitioners, both in the UK and abroad.
