Young Composers 7 released by National Youth Choir and NMC Recordings
National Youth Choir has released Young Composers 7, the latest recording in its ongoing collaboration with NMC Recordings.
Now in its seventh year, the Young Composers series showcases emerging composers through professional choral performance and recording. The 2025 release features two new works each by Fraz Ireland, Ryan Morgan, Esther Bersweden and Kornélia Nemcová, performed by the National Youth Choir (18–25 Years) and the National Youth Choir Fellowship Ensemble.
The album spans a wide stylistic range, from playful and theatrical writing to reflective and text-driven works, drawing on sources including Slovak idioms and lullabies, Lewis Carroll, historical records and everyday imagination.
The recording was completed at School Farm Studios in October 2025, with Nicholas Chalmers and Emily Dickens conducting.
