The VOCES8 Scholars Programme offers early-career vocal professionals an immersive, year-long training experience designed to prepare singers for modern ensemble and choral careers, both in the UK, US and internationally.

Guided directly by VOCES8 artists and the wider Foundation team, the programme provides a 360-degree view of professional life through residential courses, performance opportunities, recording projects, artistic mentorship, and engagement in the Foundation’s global education and outreach work.
Alongside the vocal track, the programme also offers the UK Audio & Visual Technician Pathway, supporting early-career creatives passionate about sound, video production, and digital storytelling within a professional music environment.

🇬🇧 UK Scholars Programme includes:

Three residential courses, including an artist internship at the VOCES8 International Summer School and Festival at Milton Abbey.

Performance opportunities with VOCES8 in concerts, sessions and Foundation events.

Recording session at the VOCES8 Centre, providing professional studio experience.

Observation and participation in the Foundation’s learning & participation programmes.

Regular coaching and ensemble training from VOCES8 artists and guest professionals.

Artistic, portfolio and career development sessions

🇺🇸 US Scholars Programme includes:
Three residential courses, delivered with VOCES8 Foundation partners in the US.

Performance opportunities with VOCES8 and the Foundation’s North American network.

Recording session at MPR Studios.

Opportunities to observe, support and participate in Foundation education programmes.

Consort and ensemble training tailored to professional US choral contexts.

Cross-cohort collaboration with UK Scholars where possible

🎥 UK Audio & Visual Technician Pathway:
A dedicated new pathway for early-career technicians passionate about recorded sound, video production, digital storytelling and creative media for choral and ensemble contexts.

Includes:

Hands-on technical experience at the VOCES8 Centre.

Involvement in recording sessions and multimedia production.

Mentoring from Foundation technical staff.

Participation in selected UK residentials

Who it's for

Singers at early-career stage in ensemble/choral performance.
Applicants do not need to be UK- or US-based.

Additional eligibility criteria apply for the Technician Pathway.
