About Rodolfus Choral Foundation
The Rodolfus Choral Foundation is a UK charity dedicated to transforming lives through choral singing and high-quality music education. Founded by choral director Ralph Allwood MBE, it helps children and young people develop their voices, musicianship, confidence and experience of musical teamwork.
Its residential programme includes Junior Choral Courses for singers aged 8–15 and Senior Choral Courses for those aged 16–21. Participants work with leading choral directors, professional singers and specialist teachers through rehearsals, vocal coaching, sight-singing, workshops and performances. No audition is required, and means-tested bursaries help make the courses accessible to young singers from different backgrounds.
The Foundation also runs the Rodolfus Choir, an auditioned ensemble offering concerts, recordings, broadcasts, choral services and professional projects. The choir has appeared at the BBC Proms, the Three Choirs Festival and leading churches, cathedrals and concert venues.
More than 10,000 young people have attended Rodolfus choral courses, with around 1,500 singing in the Rodolfus Choir. Its alumni include prominent singers, conductors, composers, organists, teachers and directors of music.
