RSCM Publications releases Urdu Kyrie heard at Archbishop of Canterbury installation
An Urdu setting of the Kyrie eleison sung during the installation of Sarah Mullally as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury has been published by RSCM Publications.

The setting was heard at Canterbury Cathedral on 25 March 2026, when the Kyrie eleison – ‘Lord, have mercy’ – was sung in Urdu as part of the penitential rite. Its inclusion in the service reflected the global diversity of the Anglican Communion.
Arranged by Christopher Ouvry-Johns, the setting is now available through the RSCM Music Shop.
Ouvry-Johns is a British choral conductor, arranger and musician, and is Director of Music at Leicester Cathedral. He was also responsible for the musical provision for the reinterment of King Richard III in 2015.
